Kingdom Hearts 20th Anniversary Pt.2

The world is taken by storm as the Kingdom Hearts 20th Anniversary Premier ends. Kingdom Hearts Japan official Twitter page unleashed our hearts and souls in this video announcement of 2 brand new games, Kingdom Hearts 4 and Kingdom Hearts: Missing Link, and the re-release of Kingdom Hearts X[cross] Dark Road. But the one that has captured fans the most is, of course, Kingdom Hearts 4. If you have not seen the tweets or the videos, look no further than below.

This release is exciting. After there being years between the release of Kingdom Hearts 2 and 3. With Tetsuya confirming that this was the end of Sora’s Arc, it was questionable when a new game would be released. However, 3 years after Kingdom Hearts 3 was released to the world, we now have the announcement of Kingdom Hearts 4 and the beginning of the Lost Master Arc.

For those who do not know, there were games released for the mobile devices: Union X[cross] and X[chi]. These games dove into the lives of the great keyblade masters and the ultimate Master of Masters. In the beginning he gave his apprentices roles and then disappeared, but before he did, he entrusted his keyblade and the book of the future with one apprentice and sent him away. None of the other apprentices knew what his role was and based on events, there was chaos amongst them, leading to the great keyblade war resulting in the keyblade graveyard that we see in various other games. Hopefully this arc will be able to finally explain what happened to the MoM and see what truly is going on in the world of Kingdom Hearts.

Along with KH4 we also got the re-release of Union X[cross] Dark Road. This game I am most hyped for as we finally will get the full backstory of Xehanort Eraqus and Yen Sid. How did Xehanort fall to darkness? Why was he chosen to wield the MoM’s keyblade? All these questions and more will be answered and dove into allowing the Sora Arc to fully come to a close.

The last game we received was Kingdom Hearts: Missing Link. Not much is known of this game other than it is perceived as a multiplayer for the mobile as well. It will have 3D graphics instead of the 2D renders that the Union series have and also allow you to make your own characters and progress through the world of Scala ad Callum, the home of Eraqus and Xehanort. What will we discover here? Why is it called the “Missing Link?” More to come when the closed beta comes later this year.

This is so exciting and I am more than excited to share this with you all. Until next time, stay nerdy friends. Great things are coming.
