One Piece has reached an all-time high: over 1000 chapters and episodes, 18+ movies, statues have been made, an entire 140 meter wall featuring every chapter in Tokyo Museum, a very successful Netflix Live Action with upcoming Seasons 2 and 3 iin the works and a Netflix anime remaster currently in production all within 25 years. Very few anime can claim to be anywhere near as successful as Eiichiro Oda’s franchise. But with all of this going on, fans are sad and endeared to know that we have entered the final arc of the series, so at this time a 6 month hiatus seems beyond very well deserved. But thank the Sea Gods that Oda had one last thing for the fans during this time.

On today October 20, 2024 streamed on Crunchyroll a wonderful and touching trailer for a very special 25th Anniversary Episode Trailer titled “ONE PIECE FAN LETTER.” The trailer released alongside a visual of a young girl gazing a wall of wanted posters. I’ll save you the time, watch it now below:

ONE PIECE FAN LETTER (yes it must be in all caps) will be directed Megumi Ishitani, (worked on previous episodes 957, 1015 and openings 25,26) and written by Momoka Toyoda (My Happy Marraige) while the characters will be designed by Keisuke Mori (worked alongside Ishitani for opening 26).

The series will be an adaptation of the short stories from Tomohito Ohsaki’s “Straw Hat Stories.” These will feature stories of the normal people that live on the various islands in the world of One Piece and their perspectives of the Straw Hat Crew, with each story giving focus to one member at a time. We should get stories such as Zoro arguing who is the best swordman after Dressrosa, a kid pirating Soul King’s concert which would take place on Sabaody Archipelago and even as deep as a Marine watching Luffy struggle to protect his late brother Ace during the Marineford Arc, giving his own perspective of his family and what he would do for his own brother who is also a Marine.

Currently One Piece is one of the Top Trending Anime to watch right now, even while on hiatus. This will be the perfect time to watch and catch up to the series or even start it if you haven’t yet. One Piece is a grand adventure featuring tragic tales of growth and understanding as we follow our Straw Hat Crew sail the Grand Line in search of the ultimate treasure left by Gol D. Roger. Hoist the anchors and set sails fellow crewmates as we dive into the wonderful tales of sea and adventure!!
